A 23-year-old man named Isah Idris was remanded for allegedly beating and stripping his sister Rukayya naked by a Sharia Court in Sabon Gari, Kano on Wednesday.
Abubakar Ayagi (judge) ordered the accused person be remanded in prison custody after pleading guilty to a charge of criminal force contrary to Section 165 of Kano Sharia Law. He adjourned the case till 20th January. 2016 for sentencing.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Cpl Ahmed Magawata told the court that the matter was reported at Zango Police division, Kano by Rukayya.
Magawata said that the accused, on Jan. 7, beat up Rukayya and stripped her naked for stepping on his shoe while coming out of the bathroom.
“ He beat the complainant, stripped her naked and injured her simply because she mistakenly stepped on his shoe,’’ he said, (NAN).
