According to police report on Monday, a 51-year-old woman and her 30-year-old daughter were arrested over suspicion of killing the woman’s older sister at their home in Kobe.
Shizue Nakahara and her oldest daughter Akiko were reported to have beaten Shizue’s sister Kazue Kawazura with a vacuum cleaner tube about the face and body on March 18. Nakahara called 119 on Sunday to report that her sister was unconscious in her futon and that her body was cold. Kawazura was taken to hospital where she was confirmed dead.
Police said Nakahara and her daughter have admitted to beating Kawazura, who was mentally disabled, and said they had been abusing the woman since last autumn because she constantly made a mess when they fed her.
