More than 12 people died yesterday in two separate accidents around Ogbomoso area of Oyo state. A motorcycle and a car collided along iluju-ikoyi road and left two people dead on the spot while others sustained injuries.
Also, eyewitnesses said another accident occurred along Ogbomoso- Oyo road when an articulated vehicle carrying packaged products veered off its lane and hit the incoming car. This has claimed the lives of 12 persons suspected to be traders moving from the northern part of the country to Lagos.
An official of the Federal Road Safety Commission ( FRSC) who confirmed the incident said: “ It is true the accident happened, the first one occurred around Iluju in Ogbomoso while the other one happened along Ogbomoso-Oyo road.”
