Meet Riley the six-year-old wonderkid translating Aussie to English for 'Flaming Galahs'


To celebrate Australia Day, six-year-old Riley, is teaching antipodean colloquialisms to the uninitiated. Strewth this adorable little girl has become an unlikely internet star thanks to her amazing translation skills.

Six-year-old Riley Dashwood has put the 'good' in G'day as she turns Australian slogans into the 'pommie' English language.

The hilarious two-minute video created by Josh Hawkins shows Riley from Melbourne as she takes every day Aussie phrases and makes them crystal clear for refined ears.

The antipodean version of the English language - has long been a source of amazement and possibly frustration for non-indigenous - types but now Riley is putting her own take on proceedings.

The video - which has gone viral on Australia Day - begins with Riley explaining that she will help viewers understand phrases they may not understand.

Starting of with the iconic: "G'day mate" little Riley then goes on to explain that it means: "Good day to you, me fellow companion of life's journey."

Next up Riley makes light work of the phrase: " Good onya ", helpfully revealing it means: "May good tidings fall onto you for your achievements."

The funny clip was posted to popular Facebook channel Hi Josh has had more than 11,000 views.
