Bomb threat causes cancellation of event at Apple store in Ginza

TOKYO —
Apple’s flagship store in Tokyo’s Ginza district cancelled an event on Sunday after it received a bomb threat by letter earlier in the day.

According to police, the handwritten letter said: “We will bomb you if you hold the event,” referring to a talk show featuring director Isao Yukisada to promote his movie ahead of its release in the new year, Fuji TV reported.
Police searched the store for an hour on Sunday morning, but no explosive devices were found. About 150 staff and customers were evacuated.
Police said the perpetrator, if caught, will be charged with obstruction of business operations.
