SHE loves Beyonce, ponies and doing the splits. But Virsaviya Borun is no ordinary six-year-old. She was born with her heart outside of her chest.
Virsaviya, from Russia, suffers from thoraco-abdominal syndrome or Pantalogy of Cantrell, a condition which occurs in less than one million births.
Her heart, about the size of a fist, can be seen beating against her abdominal area, protected only by a thin layer of skin. Her intestines are also outside her body.

Miracle girl.

“When I was pregnant, the doctor said she will not survive, that she is going to die,” Virsaviya’s mother, Dari Borun, told NBC Miami.
But the little girl has defied the odds and is amazingly able to dance and perform. She and her mother recently moved to Florida in the US, in the hope she can have surgery.
Several hospitals around the world reportedly turned down Ms Borun’s request to operate on her daughter because of the risks.
She said the Children’s Hospital in Boston could not operate because Virsaviya’s aortic blood pressure was too high. She will be evaluated again in two years.
“She can’t get it because of her high blood pressure and pulmonary arteries. So if it goes down, if she will feel better, they’re going to check her in two years,” Ms Borun, a single mother, said.
Since moving to the US, Virsaviya has been learning English but can’t attend school due to her condition. Ms Borun set up a fundraiser on Youcaring.com to help cover Virsaviya’s expensive medical costs. More than $US21,000 has been donated.
“My heart is right here. It’s outside of my chest and I really love my mum, she’s always touching my heart because she likes it,” Virsaviya said.
