Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Pravin Gordhan says citizens have to change their habits and work with government to preserve water.

Another province, Mpumalanga has been declared disaster area due to drought. The province will need at least R900 million in relief aid joining the ranks of KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, North West and the Free State, who have already been declared drought disaster areas.

Speaking on AM Live, Gordhan says mayors must communicate better with citizens about possible water cuts, so that people can plan their lives and know where to get additional supply.
